Story of Change
Bulandi – Inclusive and Participatory Development Society
In a remote tribal village of Chhattisgarh, families struggled with limited livelihood opportunities, poor access to healthcare, low educational attainment, and minimal participation in local decision-making processes. Women rarely attended community meetings, youth lacked employment opportunities, and many households were unaware of government schemes designed to support them.
Recognizing these challenges, Bulandi – Inclusive and Participatory Development Society initiated a community-driven development program focused on empowerment, inclusion, and participation. Rather than imposing solutions, Bulandi worked closely with villagers to understand their needs, aspirations, and existing strengths.
The organization facilitated awareness sessions, formed community groups, strengthened Self-Help Groups (SHGs), provided livelihood and skill-development training, and connected families with government welfare schemes. Women were encouraged to take leadership roles, youth received vocational guidance, and community members participated in planning and monitoring local development initiatives.
